Hello, my name is Adam Kielich. It’s pronounced “key lick”. It’s probably not the pronunciation you thought the first time you read it. It’s ok. It’s Polish. Our last names are confusing.
One of the unfortunate aspects of our society is how easy it is for one person to take advantage of another person, but how difficult it is to successfully fight back. Three areas of life where I find this to be true is in family law, personal injury law and employment law. I saw an opportunity to help people stand up and fight back. That is why I went to law school to become an attorney and practice in these areas. Employment is probably the area where it is so easy to be taken advantage of. I’ve worked many jobs from my first job as a busboy to retail, sales, finance, freight management operations and management. One thing that rang true in each of these jobs: how easy it was for the business to mistreat its employees.
I spent most of my career prior to law school and becoming an attorney working in employee benefits, an extremely complicated area of law. Six years were spent with a health insurance company. Next I moved to Fidelity Investments where I spent four years working with employer sponsored retirement plans, such as 401k, defined benefit pensions and executive compensation plans. At Fidelity Investments I worked with companies of all sizes including some of the nation’s largest employers including General Motors, Hewlett-Packard, Bank of America, Time Warner and AT&T. This experience not only gives me substantial expertise in benefit plan issues but the ability as an attorney to help clients stand up to even the biggest employers or insurance companies.
After five years of running The Kielich Law Firm in Bedford, Texas and thirty-five years in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, my wife and I decided it was time for new scenery and moved to Denver, Colorado. After spending time with two large personal injury law firms in Colorado I decided it was time to return to firm management.
